General Recommendations to help your body’s synchronization with nature:
- Walk under the moonlight taking deep gentle breaths, walk under the moonlight by a body of water (river, lake, etc.)
- Spend at least a few minutes outside everyday soaking in the sunlight.
- Go to bed by 9:45pm
- Rise early – by sunrise.
- Never skip or delay meals.
General dietary recommendations to optimize your body’s pH balance, supply more soma, reduce inflammatory tendencies:
- Start your day with stewed apple or pear with 2-3 cloves followed by unprocessed whole grain cereal (oatmeal, quinoa, etc.)
- Eat fresh, organic food whenever possible.
- Avoid nightshades: potato, tomato, bellpepper, eggplant.
- Avoid larger beans such as Lima, Kidney, Pinto, Soy, etc.
- Favor yellow mung dahl (green or split), French lentils (dupuy, brown or beluga), red lentils (masoor).
- Avoid garlic and onions.
- Avoid bananas. Baby bananas are okay.
- Avoid flax seeds and flax flour.
- Avoid winter squashes. Favor summer squashes instead (zucchini, yellow squash).
- Try to avoid soy products and bi-products, such as tofu, soy milk and any other derivatives.
- Avoid cold or processed protein (cold chicken, salami, etc.).
- Avoid processed food. No left-overs (do not eat yesterday’s meals). May eat for dinner what you had for lunch. Avoid food with preservatives. Avoid canned. boxed and frozen foods.
- Avoid sour acidic foods – avoid vinegar and bottled dressings. Favor lime.
- Replace coffee with green, white or herbal tea.
- Avoid sodas and sugary drinks.
- Have some homemade organic probiotic yogurt or Natren live probiotic if dairy is not tolerated, daily, preferably at lunch time.
- Use appropriate spice mix for your body (consult w Ayurvedic practitioner). Cook spices.
- Include healthy fats such as olive oil or ghee. Avoid partially hydrogenated anything.
- Drink water with a good pH, obtained from a natural source, that has not been processed or filtered in any way, such as Eternal, Mountain Valley or Evian.
- Eat your main meal at noon.
- Throw out aluminum and Teflon coated cookware. Stainless steel is best.
- Eat in a peaceful environment, focusing on your food. Avoid looking at your phone and watching TV when eating. Do not eat when stressed, upset or angry.
- Include exercise and spiritual practice in daily life (meditation, prayer, etc.).
